Scheduled Service and Maintenance on your Volkswagen or Audi

When should your car have scheduled auto maintenance service?

Benders helps you maintain your vehicle to factory standards with required maintenance checks and service.  We follow the scheduled maintenance recommendations for Volkswagen vehicles.

Scheduled maintenance is typically based on the amount of miles driven as recommended by the vehicle manufacture. Please refer to your owner’s manual for a detailed description of recommended service for your specific model.  Most auto manufactures recommend some kind of service every 5,000 miles. Volkswagen recommends changing your engine motor oil and oil filter every 5,000 miles, you should also inspect and rotate the tires. At specific mileage intervals the Normal Schedule of maintenance should be followed, Benders Auto Care includes the typical services and checks recommended by Volkswagen which are:

  • Automatic Transmission Fluid
  • Air Filter
  • Coolant System and Hoses
  • Drive Belts
  • Brake Pads, Brake Fluid, Shoes, Rotors, Drums, Lines and Hoses, and Parking Break
  • Suspension, Steering Linkage, and Ball Joints
  • Drive Shaft
  • Cabin Air Filter

One question we hear a lot is “When should the timing belt be replaced?” Volkswagen recommends replacing the timing belt at 110,000 miles for its Interference type engine models. This one maintenance service could save you potentially thousands of dollars. Interference type engines, which most vehicles are, could be severely damaged if the timing belt should fail. The valves and pistons can suffer major damage with the failure of the timing belt, which can cause hugh repair bills.

Why Maintain Your Vehicle?

Carefully following the required maintenance schedule helps protect you against major auto repair expenses which can occur as a result of neglect or inadequate automotive maintenance. Also, failure to perform specific scheduled maintenance can invalidate your Volkswagen or Audi Manufacturers Warranty coverage due to lack of proper maintenance. Regular maintenance is essential to obtaining the highest level of performance.

Benders Auto Care believes and follows Volkswagens recommendation that proper scheduled maintenance will help improve your vehicles overall performance while keeping your vehicle running longer, and it will help to retain the value of the vehicle.

If you notice a fluid leak it is very important to have it checked, tranmissions, cooling systems, and engine motor oil systems all depend on those fluids to keep your vehicle running. Most vehicle manufactures recommend checking your fluid levels monthly. If you are not sure how to check them, refer to your owner’s manual or ask us.
