Scheduled Service and Maintenance on your Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep

When should your car have scheduled auto maintenance service?

Don’t wait for the “Check Engine Light” to come on before you bring your car to Benders in Covina, CA.

When Benders Auto Care provides maintenance and auto repair services on your Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep we follow the warranty requirements set by the factory guidelines to keep your vehicle warranty intact.

In most cases these Scheduled Maintenance guidelines are listed in your Owners Manual, please refer to this manual for the recommended scheduled maintenance for your Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicle or bring your car, truck or SUV to Benders Auto Care, we can provide you with the required or recommended service and maintenance schedule for your make and model.

Scheduled auto service and maintenance is typically based on the amount of miles driven and the regular driving conditions as outlined by the vehicle manufacture.

Chrysler recommends changing your engine motor oil and oil filter every 6,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first; you should also inspect and rotate the tires. At required maintenance intervals the Chrysler Maintenance Schedule recommendations should be followed, Benders Auto Care includes the typical services and checks recommended by Chrysler for your Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep which are:

  • If using your vehicle in dusty or off-road conditions, inspect the engine air cleaner filter, and replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the brake linings, rotors/drums and replace if necessary.
  • Replace the air conditioning filter (if equipped).
  • Inspect the rear axle fluid.
  • Inspect the CV joints. Perform the first inspection at 12,000 miles (20 000 km) or 12 months.
  • Inspect the exhaust system. Perform the first inspection at 12,000 miles (20 000 km) or 12 months.
  • Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals, and replace if necessary.
  • Check all engine fluids and change or refill if necessary.
  • Change the Timing Belt

One question we hear a lot is “How many belts does my car have and when should they be replaced?” Typically more modern cars, trucks and SUV’s have three belts.  The Timing Belt is very important to the engine operation.  Some Chryslers have a Timing Chain, however, if you have a Timing Belt, Chrylser recommends replacing the timing belt at 60,000 miles for older cars and at 100,000 miles for newer vehicles. This one maintenance service could save you potentially thousands of dollars. Interference type engines, which most vehicles are, could be severely damaged if the timing belt should fail. The valves and pistons can suffer major damage with the failure of the timing belt which can cause hugh repair bills.
