Scheduled Service and Maintenance on your Chevrolet, GMC or Buick

What kind of maintenance does your car need?

Scheduled maintenance is typically based on the amount of mileage driven, we determine the proper service required for your vehicle based on the manufactures maintenance guidelines and your mileage. Benders Auto Care recommends the service and maintenance suggested by GM for your make and model.

Please refer to your owner’s manual for a detailed description of the recommended services for your specific model. Don’t wait for the “Check Engine Light” to come on before you bring your car to Benders in Covina, CA.

Chevrolet recommends you change the engine oil and replace the oil filter within 600 miles of the “Change Engine Oil Soon” alert; you should also inspect and rotate the tires.

One question we hear a lot is “When should the timing belt be replaced?” GM recommends replacing the timing belt at 60,000 miles.  This one maintenance service could save you potentially thousands of dollars.  Interference type engines, which most vehicles are, could be severely damaged if the timing belt should fail.  The valves and pistons can suffer major damage with the failure of the timing belt which can cause hugh repair bills.

Benders Auto Care includes the following service checks based on the Normal Schedule of maintenance and automotive service for specific mileage intervals following the guidelines of the Chevolet, Buick, or GMC vehicle you own:

  • Automatic Transmission Fluid
  • Air Filter
  • Cooling System and Hoses
  • Drive Belts
  • Brake Pads, Shoes, Rotors, Drums, Lines and Hoses, and Parking Break
  • Suspension, Steering Linkage, and Ball Joints
  • Drive Shaft
  • Cabin Air Filter (Replacement may be needed if you notice reduced air flow from the air conditioner or heater or if the windows fog easily when you use the Fresh mode. Driving in heavy traffic, on dirt roads or in urban, dusty or desert areas may shorten the life of the cabin air filter.)

Benders Auto Care is dedicated to working with you to ensure your vehicle gets the best service. We want your vehicle to last longer and continue to meet your needs, that’s why we recommend following the manufacturer’s recommended schedule for warranty service.

Why Maintain Your Vehicle?

Regular maintenance is essential to obtaining the highest level of performance from your GM vehicle. Properly cared for vehicles last longer and retain their value.

Carefully following the required maintenance schedule helps protect you against major auto repair expenses which can occur as a result of neglect or inadequate automotive maintenance. Also, failure to perform specific scheduled maintenance can invalidate your Chevrolet, Buick or GMC Manufacturers Warranty coverage due to lack of proper maintenance.

If you notice a fluid leak it is very important to have it checked, tranmissions, cooling systems, and engine motor oil systems all depend on those fluids to keep your vehicle running.  Most vehicle manufactures recommend checking your fluid levels monthly.  If you are not sure how to check them, refer to your owner’s manual or ask us.
